YAHOO is acquiring Right Media, which operates an online advertising exchange. Yahoo had previously purchased a 20% stake in the company.

SONY plans to launch The Minisode Network. The online network will stream condensed versions of old television shows from the Sony library. "Charlie's Angels" and "T.J. Hooker" will be among the selection.

CBS will use TARGETSPOT to place ads into internet radio streams. Advertisers will be able to target listeners in specific zip codes and demographics.

REUTERS is creating software that scans news articles to measure the coverage that a specific company is getting. The software will then generate a stock trade based on the information.

YOUTUBE has announced enhanced social-networking functions. User profiles can now list recently-watched videos, and video pages will announce who is currently watching that specific video. Users must choose to turn on these features.
